New Publications: Instructions for Obtaining Building Permits and Public School Fire Safety Manual
- The Office of Facilities Planning (OFP) has updated several documents to adjust to changes made since their last issuance. Please see the links below for the revised documents:
- Instructions for Obtaining Building Permits – Provides details and requirements for submissions of various types of projects.
- Public Fire Safety Inspection Manual - Provides guidance on the requirements for reporting annual public school fire inspections and explains the process for obtaining Certificates of Occupancy.
- Public School Inspection Reporting Form – is now a fillable PDF
- Two notable changes in this set of documents:
- Upon construction project completion, a Fire Safety Inspection and report submission are now required for Alteration Level 2 and 3. (See page 24 of the Instructions for Obtaining Building Permits)
- A permit extension request will now only be considered if received during the original 2-year permit period. (See page 8 of the Instructions for Obtaining Building Permits)
- Additionally, OFP would like to take this opportunity to remind Districts of their obligations for performing the 2025-2029 Building Condition Survey: Please see the Building Condition Survey page.
- BCS maximum reimbursement rate for 2025 is $0.42/sq. ft.
